Going through pregnancy without a partner?

Just reaching out to those of you who might be in a similar position to let you know that I’m here! 👋🏼

I wanted to put it out there, I was with my partner at the time we found out we were pregnant. However things have changed since then.

We are in a long distance relationship and have been for a couple of years (I was back and forth from his country very regularly).

However, thanks to Covid-19, we’ve been sharing our pregnancy milestones over video call and I haven’t seen him since January.

It’s unlikely he’ll make it to Australia for the birth. As our relationship is International.

I’m very lucky that I have a supportive family and group of friends here. But sometimes it is a real struggle emotionally. I cry when I go to the doctor, I cry when I get gifts and parcels for our baby. I feel sad mainly for him, because he is missing out on things with me, he can’t feel her kicking, he can’t see me growing in person and he might not meet his baby until she 6 months + (still depends on so many things).

And although I’m not a ‘single mama’ it sometimes feels that way.

We all experience things in our lives differently, our relationships are different and our pregnancies are different, but I just wanted to let you all know if anybody needs to talk around here, I’m around ☺️💞
