When did you announce your pregnancy at work?

I am almost 17 weeks pregnant and have not yet announced my pregnancy at work. Mainly, I first want to be sure everything’s fine, secondly there are plenty of organizational changes at work and announcing my pregnancy now, might affect me for the future
When did you announce your pregnancy and what’s the best way to say you are over 4 months pregnant but haven’t officially announced? I feel like I need to justify myself why I have not announced earlier - but it seems unfair as this should be a personal choice, right?

I don’t know your job but I would def think about it before announcing during these times. I’m not sure but idk if u legally have to let them know right now. U could wait until 20 wk anatomy scan and if they say anything just say u wanted to make sure everything was ok before announcing.

I’m a teacher and just told my principal this week, after the last day of school. It’s a personal choice so don’t feel like you have to defend your decision to wait to announce. I was almost 16 weeks when I told her. With my first, I told her around 8 weeks.

I haven’t told my job yet. I’m a teacher so I’m working from home currently. I plan to tell them when we go in to clean up our classrooms and if I don’t see them then, I’ll email after 4th of July. There were changes with our budget and I was concerned, but after finding out I’m “safe”, I am less worried. You don’t have to give an explanation as to why you didn’t announce yet. And IF they ask, which they wont, just say you didn’t want to publicly announce and worry family and friends during the pandemic.

I told both my bosses around 9 weeks because I’m pretty close with them. I just told my coworkers this week at almost 15 weeks because even though we’re all working remotely, I wanted to let everyone know.

Well I work from home and my 3 year old and 7 year old daughters accidentally announced my pregnancy to my manager during a 1:1 meeting 🤦🏽‍♀️. I believe I was about 8 weeks then but I wasn't planning on telling her until I was a little further along. I announced to the rest of my team during our virtual meeting when I was a little over 14 weeks. I figured that what happens, it will be nice to have support. You decide to make this choice when you're ready to do so ❤.

I’m a teacher, so I waited until I signed my contract for next year. I also didn’t want to wait too long and have people guessing because I am already bumping with baby #2

I told them right away because I have a history of complications and losses and often times have more frequent appointments. Also if something did happen I wanted them to be prepared for the possibility of me needing a few days off unexpectedly. You don't owe anyone any explanation as to why or when you tell. I think its common for people to wait until the 2nd trimester or even after 20 weeks.
