Who do you always side with

Okay, so a little background... my mother always expects me to side with her anytime she tries to argue with my husband about parenting my daughter. Now I agree on certain things NOT everything, but she always expects to be right! She gets upset when I don't side with her and tells me I'm afraid of my husband, why would I be afraid of him?!! Never! I tell them both how it is I never choose sides but it is getting to a point where my mom talks bad about either of us and switches up our arguments to my siblings so they can side with her. Am I being wrong for not wanting to side with my mother ALL the time? Like I can side with who ever I want if they are actually making sense in the situation! My husband is over it and just doesn't feel her negative energy should be around us.(she always finds a way to push us around about how we want to raise our daughter) I love my mom with everything in me! But I just don't know what to do anymore. Sorry for such a long paragraph! Needed to vent...

Well first how you guys parent your daughter is none of her business so she shouldn’t even be arguing with you two about that. If my partner sided with his mom about how she thinks I should parent then I would be mad. If him and i disagree on parenting tactics then thats one thing. But i wont be letting someone else weigh in on how we parent

Honestly I always side with my husband. If there is a time I do not I will speak to him in private and come to an agreement but I won’t ever address it in front of anyone. However anything that has to do with OUR daughter then I Will always side with my husband. He’s my partner in crime and that’s his daughter too. I always have his back.

Ugh I’m sorry you have to deal with this 🤦🏼‍♀️ Your mom is my mom lol they are the same person. BUT you always have to have your husband’s back 💯 especially when it has to do with y’all’s children!

I mean, I don’t ever side with a person just because of who they are. If they’re wrong, they’re wrong. 
However, why is your mom even involved this much into your parenting? She needs to butt out.

Why in the hell is your mother even weighing in on your and your husband's child? She doesn't get a say. If my husband sided with his mother over me just because she's his mother I'd leave him because that's not healthy, and a relationship won't last through that. I'm his wife, we're a team. We decide things together, and if we don't agree we talk it out to compromise. In no way, shape, or form does anyone else get a say about anything in our marriage, no matter who it is.

Cut her off until she respects you and your husband’s parenting. if I were him I wouldn’t want my kids and my self by her. Also best way when spouse and family are arguing, agree with your spouse and protect them from your family but then talk to them one on one about your opinions when you aren’t around family. I’ve noticed when people don’t do this family members feel like they can drive a wedge between you and your spouse. But your foot definitely needs to be put down with her and if she wants to act entitled to parenting your child cut her out until she understands her place. Also you can still love someone and cut them out. Some people are just toxic🤷🏼‍♀️
