Visitor restrictions after baby?

What all are you communicating to family/friends about visiting after baby is born? I want to make sure for certain people that they have this information well in advance in order to curb the constant asking/hurt feelings.  I just feel overwhelmed with what to put in place.  Has anyone’s doctors given them suggestions?

I wanted to wait til my baby was at least 4-6wks and then when someone does come over have them bring a clean shirt to change into, wash their hands and wear a mask ! It sounds crazy and extra but I work in health care so it makes the most sense to me to keep the baby safe !! Everyone I told so far (friends/family) have agreed it sounds like the safest way to go for now

I’m probably not going to allow any visitors at all unless things drastically change by July.

I interviewed two pediatricians. One said no visitors until vaccines at 2 months, the other said no visitors for 3-4 months. Just tell them it's your baby and you are following doctors orders. 
They did studies since quarantine and found that babies are putting on better weight since quarantine because they aren't constantly being stressed with visitors. Babies need space to learn their new world and bond with their parents. So, if you feel bad about it, you shouldn't.
Also, my husband's baby sister died at 1 month old from an infection brought in by a visitor, so we aren't taking any chances. He supports this decision 100% because he doesn't want that to happen to us.

My mom is very nervous about getting sick so she is already very cautious but is planning on completely quarantining two weeks before my due date so I feel comfortable with her coming over, however we will be sitting outside in the yard with masks and I’m still debating if she can hold him or not. 
I’m super nervous about my MIL though. I think she’s just still feeling like covid isn’t really here in our town and I’m worried she doesn’t take safety precautions seriously. I don’t mind her coming over to meet him outside like my mom is planning to, but I just keep thinking I’ll tell her not to touch him and she’ll pick him up anyways

My bf doesn’t want a lot of people near the baby, so when he’s born it’ll just be close family for now until things change. My family’s not that big and I know they’ve been quarantine so it’ll just be them, and also when they come they have to wash their hands, use hand sanitizer, and hold the baby with the blanket and once they leave I’m giving the baby a bath

Here in Australia our restrictions are lifting so I’ll allow visitors once I’m home but not to sure about allowing people to hold the baby, I’ll wait and see.
Hospitals at this stage still only have 1 visitor per day so I’ll be sad if my son can’t come in and meet the baby.

Grandparents are all aloud to come for the birth for a few days. They’ve all been quarantined or my mom who works at a hospital gets tested weekly(hospital rules). After that no one for at least 2 months and the baby has shots. Then maybe siblings and great grandma...

Thanks everyone! Our initial thoughts were quarantining for 2 weeks if they want to see the baby and then ask them to wear masks. Limit visiting time and obviously wash hands.  My problem is my in-laws say they’re doing one thing but their actions show another.  So I’m wary in general...we’ll keep thinking on it but your answers help! I’m def not opposed to no visitors aside from my mom who I know isn’t going anywhere.

My mom is quarantining for 2 weeks before my scheduled C-section so that she can watch my daughter and my husband can be with me. 
She took a few extra days off work so she could spend some time with him before she goes back, and then we will just be doing video calls until restrictions lift or baby gets vaccines. 
My in laws seem to think they are immune to everything, and my MIL works in a grocery store.. and they don't care. They ask us to come over constantly and get angry when we explain we can't. I made a comment about how no one will be seeing the baby and they laughed.. now I'm convinced they are just going to show up at our house and try to get in to see him (they live a 2 minute drive down the street)... 🤦

Our parents and siblings are the only ones who will visit and I'll ask they wear a mask and obviously wash their hands when they hold him. I wait two months to go in public anyway with my others so I'll definitely wait that long this time.
