I probably posted about this a while ago, but now 6 weeks away from due date I’m starting to stress.

We have a very very cuddly cat around 12y/o and the plan was to start closing our door at night in May to get her prepared for baby. Also to be safe, we don’t need to worry about her trying to get into the bassinet right cuddle. Well it hasn’t happened yet. I am now saying June. I think I’m being a pushover but I feel bad.

My husband is so attached to this cat. She sleeps by his side almost every night. Even if she leaves the room and comes back she goes right back to her spot. Sometimes when she isn’t sleeping in our room he calls her up. I think that’s really going against what we are trying to do here. I know this is crazy but I think my husband is going to have trouble (emotionally) doing this. This cat represents something very sentimental to him (we took in the cat after his father passed a few years ago). She loves being held and pet and always wants attention like a dog.

But maybe I’m just overthinking this. sometimes I think she might just be fine. On nights when I was sick and needed to door closed, she didn’t even notice. If she gets closed out of a room like our office while we are doing work for a few hours she accepts it. She tries to push the door open but then gives up and sits outside. Maybe I’m the one struggling with the idea of change too ? Wow this just got deep 😂
