Be Kind. At daycare, one of the other children is starting to realize that Olivia has two moms. In front of us or the staff, he has never made a big deal out of it. He is a little older then Olivia and announces every day “ Olivia your mom is here” I have always smiled at him. Recently he says “Olivia your other mom is here”. The first time I head him say that my eyes filled up with tears for a few different reasons. 1. He is only 4 and he doesn’t care how many moms Olivia has. 2. He doesn’t treat Olivia differently because she has “another mom”. 3. Olivia has a different family. 4. Will the world always be this kind to her for our family dynamic. What I hope for Olivia is that the world will continue to be kind to her and not judge her for her family.
