Fiancé forgot our anniversary. Would you be upset?

So today is our 9 year anniversary.  He forgot.  He went to work this morning, and I sent him a text saying “do you know what date it is?”  And he acknowledged it.  
I called him asking when he would be home, and he said “I’m almost home, I’m just getting my car washed”.  Fine.
He shows up home, no flowers, no acknowledgement, no hug nothing.
I can’t help but feel really hurt.  Maybe pregnancy hormones.

We always discuss important dates coming up and I write them on our calendar. We are both forgetful so it could happen easily. I understand being hurt though.

Talk to him about it. Say “I can’t help but feel *insert said emotions*” and just talk about it. Your feelings are valid, pregnant or not

I think this pandemic and quarantine have affected our celebratory days. Like I didn’t even realize Easter had come and gone; same thing for Mother’s Day. No it’s not on the same level as an anniversary but those are dates our family has celebrated since I can remember but they just went by with a whisper. 
Things are not normal this year. Just talk to him about it.

I get it but I do think you’re overreacting. A lot of men just don’t think about stuff like that or really care. It’s not that he doesn’t love you.

I understand feeling hurt and I’d feel the same but definitely talk to him first before reacting. Men arent mind readers and very different from us. Maybe he genuinely doesn’t realize how important this is to you. Some people don’t feel the need to celebrate things like this and that doesn’t take away how they feel about you. Now if this is the first time he isn’t interested in celebrating your anniversary then ask him why. Just say you were looking forward to celebrating together and was wondering if he didn’t feel the same. Maybe he has something planned for later or the weekend. You don’t know if you don’t ask and that’s better then just feeling upset and then lashing out on him or ignoring him.

I can honestly tell you that my husband has no idea what date we got married; he knows it’s in June and might be able to tell me what year but has no idea what day. He doesn’t do cards or flowers for any celebrations - I knew that going into our relationship and it doesn’t bother me; I feel like they are usually a waste of money anyway. He will buy me whatever I ask him for with no questions and loves to take me out to eat (when not in a pandemic). Spending time with him one on one without kids is what I appreciate for special days. But yes, dates he is clueless with so I never expect him to remember any of them...he only remembered it was Mother’s Day because his mom texted him. 😂

Our anniversary was this Saturday and we both totally forgot about it until I happened to see the date on my phone in the late afternoon 🤷🏼‍♀️ but anniversaries and birthdays are not really important to us.

My husband and I don’t really make a huge deal out of our anniversary. We got married on the 8 year anniversary of our first date specifically because my husband “didn’t want to remember two dates / forget the date” but if he ever did forget, it honestly wouldn’t bother me.
If it bothers you, sit down and have a discussion on how it made you feel, but at the same time remember that we’re all human, and it’s okay to forget things or make mistakes every once in a while. Especially now with COVID19, the days are kind of blurring together, which makes it a lot easier to forget what day it is. Don’t let yourself get so upset about it that you don’t get to enjoy it. Just let him know how you feel and ask if there’s anything he would like to do to celebrate tonight, even if it’s just a nice take out dinner and cuddling on the couch. Being together is what’s important, not the date or the gifts (or lack thereof).

We both forgot our anniversary before. But we try to give each other a heads up and talk about it, however still we may forget to acknowledge the day. I understand feeling hurt, i have been at time when he hasnt acknowledged a date and he has been too when i havent acknowledged a date. Normal feeling if you take those types of things seriously
