Have you taken the Five Love Languages Quiz with your SO?

We recently both took the quiz and it stimulated great conversation and taught us a lot. I had no idea how much physical touch and just spending time with me meant to him. I feel empowered that I have some knowledge about what makes him feel loved.

I recently took it again and got what I expected: physical touch is my #1. My boyfriend hasn’t taken it recently, but he did before and his was also physical touch. It honestly works out wonderfully. We’re always cuddling or touching somehow. My family gives us a hard time because we’re always holding hands. He’ll grab my face and literally kiss every inch of it.

I took it and was genuinely surprised by my result (physical touch), but I realized it’s actually spot on. I had my fiancé take it and he got quality time which made perfect sense to me. It’s good to have to look back on and give me perspective on how things may affect him differently based on his love languages

I've taken it on my own and with my husband. On my own, my top two are quality time and acts of service. Physical touch barely rates - I have a 1 in that area only because 0 isn't an option on the quiz. With my husband, my top two are quality time (by a huge margin) and physical touch (still very low). His are physical touch (by a very wide margin) and words of affirmation. Generally speaking, I really do not like to be touched. I would make a very serviceable porcupine. When it comes to my husband, I'm more into it, but he's the only person I really like touching me. He, on the other hand, loves touch. He loves to be touched. If we're in the same room together, his preference is that we be touching, which can be difficult for me at times. I like my space. He loves to cuddle while sleeping, while I'm clinging to the edge of the bed just to have some space. Lol The quality time thing can be tricky too. He thinks if we're reading our own books in the same room, that's quality time. To me, quality time is time spent interacting, talking, etc, even if it's going grocery shopping together. It's being with each other in an active way. Truthfully, one of the things I struggle with most is when he closes his eyes when we're cuddled up and/or being intimate. I know he's probably reveling in the touching and closing his eyes helps him focus, but it makes me feel shut out and therefore missing out on quality time and connection. It can be a problem. Lol

Is anyone’s love language Gifts?  When I took the quiz with my teen, she felt offended by the giving of gifts love language. I tried explaining that it’s not shallow; and that it’s usually just small things that show the other person you thought about them.
