Feeling overwhelmed, unmotivated, or unfocused?🤦🏻‍♀️ Depressed or anxious?😩 Having trouble sleeping or stress eating?🙊 CHRONIC STRESS not only affects our emotional wellbeing, it contributes weight gain and harms EVERY bodily system😳 . Here are my 🔝10 TIPS TO MANGE STRESS‼️ . 1️⃣ Recognize and take ownership of your stressors. Write down the stressors in your life. How do your OWN thoughts, feelings, and behaviors contribute to your stress levels?📝 . 2️⃣ Avoid unnecessary stress. Learn how to say “no,” avoid toxic people, turn off the news, trim down your to-do list, let go of perfectionism. . 3️⃣ Alter the situation if possible. If you can’t avoid the stressor, what can you change? Change your schedule, make processes more efficient, enlist help, be willing to compromise😉 . 4️⃣ Adapt to the stressor. How can you change your expectations or attitude? Choose positivity, keep things in perspective, adjust your standards, practice gratitude.🙏🏼 . 5️⃣ Accept the things you can’t change. Make the best of it! Practice forgiveness, express feelings, focus on what you CAN do, use the opportunity for personal growth😇 . 6️⃣ Practice time management. Constantly running behind can cause us to neglect sleep, exercise, nutrition - which only stress! Prioritize rather than procrastinate, break big projects into small steps, delegate, don’t over-commit❌ . 7️⃣ Embrace a healthy lifestyle. A healthy body can better handle daily stressors! Emphasize balanced nutrition (see previous posts), get enough sleep, hydrate; limit alcohol, caffeine and sugar; and don’t use tobacco and drugs to cope. . 8️⃣ Exercise daily and get some fresh air. Even stretching with an open window can improve your mood, reduce stress and help prevent stress eating👍 . 9️⃣ Make time for relaxation and fun! Connect with loved ones, prioritize self care, do something fun each day, allow downtime (this is when brain process things and gets creative)🧠 . 🔟 Practice stress relief techniques.
