6-9 months is the current recommendation from World Health Organization with breast milk or formula being main source of nutrition until 1 year. Any solid food/purées before 1 year are really just supposed to be about exploration of taste and textures

6 months with my first and 7 with my second. Talk with your pediatrician. Some babies may need to start earlier because of special reasons, but your average baby doesn’t need solids until 6 months

My kids didn't like it! I usually just smush whatever we are eating or chop it up tiny and fed them that. A food processor is handy to make it small

Started my oldest at 4 months. She hated it and is the pickiest eater. My youngest I didn’t start until right at 6 months. She’ll eat anything I put in front of her.

Everything I could find said "around 6 months" with signs of readiness. My son was showing all the signs of interest, including snatching food off my plate of he could get it, below turning 4m, but we waited until 4m. He was, and still is, a big boy and he loves his food. My daughter was just born, but she's teeny. When she's ready she'll let us know and we'll start then.

In Germany they recommend 4-6 months. We did 5 and honestly I won't be doing it with my next. It's a lot of extra work (compared to just nursing) and not necessary. He's a great eater And we dropped purees at 6 months but the extra mess and planning isn't worth it.
