Does this sound right ?

I have had 4 losses 3 which were back to back so when i found out i was pregnant again i started doing my own research and calles my dr and asked if maybe my progesterone was low so she had me come in for an hcg and progesterone draw 3 days later they left a voice mail that the numbers are there but i need to re do both in a week.If its indeed low is a week a long time to see if i may need ti be on progesterone? Thanks im just worried.

I wouldnt think they would need to see progesterone progression, it needs to be above a certain level to sustain a pregnancy and that level is pretty known to most doctors. HCG is more fluid and the starting value can be all over the map. It is usually drawn every 2-3 days to verify it is doubling in that time, which is a sign of a healthy pregnancy. I would think they should at least give you an interpretation of the progesterone results and should have you come in for an HCG draw sooner than a week apart.

If you have had three back to back, they should classify you high risk at least ant monitore more or do extra tests. Progesterone might not be the issue at all, but noone knows, before they investigate. So I would try to get appointments sooner and demand myself being classified high risk. And them investigate further. It might not prevent another miscarriage but at least they can figure out what the issue is, to avoid it next time.
