To all who delivered this may - did you have to wear a mask during labor?

Was it hard to breathe through it during labor? I wear glasses and I’m asmatic, and the thought of delivering with a mask on gives me a panic attack. I totally agree with masks otherwise just curious about this specific scenario, since we will be tested when we are admitted or before.

Currently by us everyone gets a rapid covid test. It takes 45 minutes to result. They make you wear a mask when staff is in the room until it results and then when its negative you do not need to wear one for the rest of your stay unless walking out in the hallways.

no because they made me get tested before my induction but i had to wear one if i left the room

They wanted me to and gave me one but I took it off when my contractions started and never wore it again until I left the hospital. They can’t expect you to wear it during labor. And what are they gonna arrest you if you don’t

Only when we left the room were we required to. The  nurses and doctors did at all times though.

My SIL gave birth in April but while they were in the birthing suite she and her husband didn’t have to wear masks, only when entering/exiting room and hospital did they have to wear one
