Homemade food:)

Jo

Heres the food I make for my 11 year old cat. Chicken, peas and carrots. I also use a powder supplement for other vitamins and nutrients. He loves this stuff and it is a labor of love. I make large batches and freeze in freezer bags about 3-4 days worth at a time. Sometimes I add water to the bowl to help dissolve the powder, which he doesnt mind. This picture has 8 lbs chicken breast, 1.5 bags of frozen peas and a mix of frozen and baby carrots. I dont use canned vegetables because of sodium.

Backstory: constantly puking and covered in scabs, possible skin issue or food allergy but never properly diagnosed. Went to multiple vets, no answers without thousands in testing. Only remedy was steroids but the longterm effects were going to be horrible. Given prescription food with hydrolyzed protein which was $55 for 3 lbs. Still puking and digestion issues. Manufacturer ran out, date of restock unknown. Waited 2 weeks and never saw movement on my order. Got desperate after finally running out of food and no movement on my order and boiled some chicken I had in the fridge. Noticed that he didnt puke and his skin irritation was gone. Did tons of research on veggies and supplements and have done this since for about a year. Hes a happy boy, skin issue free, goes to the bathroom regularly and looks forward to mealtime.
