How do you get your child into modeling?

Hello all, I have a beautiful little 2 year old daughter. She is extremely photogenic, and a complete ham in front of the camera. She loves to take pictures. From the research I’ve done online, it is best to find an agent to represent your child, but I’m not so sure that’s the right “first step” to take. We live in a relatively small town, without any modeling opportunities that I could find. How do you get a child started in modeling? What are the first few steps I need to take? Do y’all have any recommendations regarding this?

A portfolio aka some professional photos taken. I don’t mean this in a mean way AT ALL , but don’t forget that not everyone is going to think your baby is the cutest thing, so don’t be discouraged if everyone isn’t into her ‘look’ 🙂

I dont have anything against that. My husband is totally against, he always bring up how those famous young kids grow up to be a mess/loosers.... anyways. First step would be a portfolio, professional photobook (good quality) 8/12 pictures.  With those photos you send to a company and they usually book babies/toddler for clothing catalogs. My ex used to work adjustment images like photoshop for webs and catalogs. So you should see in your town an agency that has models.

My daughter has been acting and modeling for 3 years (when she wants to stop we will stop). We live in an area where it is easier to find agents, but she auditioned for an agent. They signed her and immediately started sending her on castings and go sees. She’s done commercials for Hasbro, print ads with Reese Witherspoon, etc. keep in mind if you find some talent scout that wants to charge you hundreds of dollars to get pictures done, it’s bogus. Anyone who’s going to charge you is fake. A real agent doesn’t make money until you do.

I deeply understand that you want to proceed with modeling for your daughter but honestly she’s growing and she is need to live through childhood and once she is grown up to understand how modeling works and then you can get her into this industry. But just don’t let her innocence go away that easily let her enjoy that and then theres this whole life where she can decide what she wants to do. Also because once this time is gone, she can never relive them. Thank you and sorry but it’s just a suggestion. Rest you are the mother you know babe what’s best for your kid 🤗

I would be careful about this. The best way to start is to get a portfolio together. But the modeling industry is very damaging at any age. They have a certain idea about how models should look and growing up with that could be very hard on your child. This is changing though, so I would be very selective about who you work with and do your research on your offers :)
