How did you all know that you were ready to start trying?!

Answer

The initial plan was to finish college (got married before my senoir year) and get a house first before TTC. We saved for a downpayment and got a house in year 3 of marriage. Then life happened and I had several surgeries which took a while to recover from. So we started TTC about 5 years into marriage.

I was married at 23 and my husband was 25 a year after we finished college. We took that year before to work to pay for the wedding. We wanted a steady job and house first before kids. No set timeline but I felt the desire to become a mom 9 months after marriage, but it wasn't the right time. We moved to Asia right after getting married to teach English to pay off school debt and travelled a little bit. We stayed there two years and got two dogs. We moved home during a recession. It took us three years after that to get to steady enough jobs and save for a down payment ( we work in child care). We also got a cat and finally got a cute old house. We have done a lot of renovations during the two years we've been here and are making the community our home. I also am almost done my ECE through my apprenticeship.Now we are trying to conceive 8 years into marriage. We're 31 and 33. So many things kept us from it but we're finally ready.

Is it time?
