Perineal massage?!!?

Has anyone not worried about this and turned out ok down there? LOL I just really don’t want to have to worry about that right now. 😖 I’m thinking I’ll just let nature takes its course.

I’m not doing it. I read that for it to be effective you have to pull until it hurts. Why would I hurt myself repeatedly in advance? Not worth it lol

I am trying to remember but have to take a week break to take care of my minor yeast infection. 
Really apparently a few times helps. But I think a lot of it is just you body....so dont feel too bad about doing it or not

I never did it and I only had a small superficial tear with my first.  Like hours later the nurse couldn’t even see it 🤷🏻‍♀️

In flip side, I did it religiously with my first 3 and tore (not first time because he ended up c-section) with the next 2. Not bad tears, but it didn't prevent them.  Not worrying with it this time really.

I didn’t do it with my other 2, nor will I this time. I had 2 minor tears both deliveries and only needed like a stitch or two. Like just tiny little tears that could still happen either way, I mean a human is coming out of your vagina lol things happen.

I did not massage and did not tear and no episiotomy. I did have her natural and was on my hands and knees so gravity assisted. My midwife was stretching and helping in the minutes before she was born also. I don’t know if it really does a ton to do. For me it was just too uncomfortable to try and do that so big and pregnant haha
