I’ll try and keep my long story short..

This is my second pregnancy. Last year I went for my 12 week scan and they ‘couldn’t see what they should have seen’ for 12 weeks with an Abdominal scan. They didn’t have the facility to do the other scan until the next day so paid privately and they were able to pick up a heart beat and confirm that baby was there only from the view they had they reckon baby was measuring 7 weeks. Unfortunately the next day I started a miscarriage which lasted 3 months finally getting the all clear on Christmas Eve.

So now in 2020, pregnant again with a positive test on 14th April, last period was 12th March.

Got my letter to say that my 12 week scan was due 5th June but due to covid I couldn’t bring my husband . My anxiety levels rose due to experience last year and we decided to get a private scan. So went last Sunday which I reckon would have been 9 weeks and some days. The nurse again used the words ‘I’m not seeing what I should be seeing’ and referred to me to EPC. They saw me last Tuesday and scanned and could see that everything was in a good position, could see the yoke sac but couldn’t see anything inside. They reckoned I must be a lot earlier than I thought 5-6 weeks so have asked me to come back again on Tuesday.

I’m petrified. I’m worried about what they will tell me. I am worried that it’s a blighted ovum. No one mentioned that but I googled it.

Curious to see if anyone has experienced this before? Have there been any happy endings?

I’m trying hard to focus on what we know as opposed to don’t know and at the moment I’m pregnant, I’ve no bleeding or cramps and still have pregnancy symptoms. I’m trying to be hopeful but also need to prepare myself for the worst case scenario.

Please tell me I’m not alone...
