My friend told me he loved me

So I recently reconnected with an old friend who I hadn’t seen in quite some time but I used to work with him. We’ve spent most of the week together and I even met the girl his seeing. Who I got on with like a house on fire. Anyway I hung out with him two days ago and we both got drunk and had a gathering with his room mate and a couple of his roommates friends which was super fun. Everyone started falling asleep, my friend and I were snuggling and then my friend when they left the room for a moment told me that he loved me and that I was special. I didn’t know how to take it so I told him I loved him to. I didn’t know what way he meant it because after that he was trying to make advances with me but I left because I felt guilty that he has someone and I’ve been avoiding him ever since. He wants to see me today but I just know if I go back there somethings gonna happen between us and I can’t because he has a girlfriend. I’m still trying to move past all the drama that I’ve been going through recently and I feel so confused.
