Believing in God?

How can people believe in a god when there is so much evil, hate and pain in the world?

Just to add, I used to believe in a god. But throughout life things have happened that first made me question the belief and finally made me stop believing. I’d love to have faith but I cannot see how I can have one when I see and have had so many bad things happen. 3 miscarriages, ongoing pain and illness due to what was described as a simple disease when I was diagnosed. Abuse. Trauma etc. If there was a god surely he wouldn’t allow these things to happen to people? (I get people believe there is a devil but he didn’t make me loose three babies did he)
