How to tell my mom that I’ve been molested?

So I recently told my boyfriend of 4 years that my father molested me when I was 12, for about 2 months straight. I was so scared as I’ve never told ANYBODY or even said it out loud.
Well now my boyfriend thinks that my mother should know and he really wants me to tell her. I really want to but I just don’t know how to say it. It’s happened almost 10 years ago now, and I don’t want this to ruin my family. Has anyone been in this position? How do you tell your mom something like this? :(

I was by my older cousin I didn't say anything either because he told me not to so I never did I was about 6 or younger but over the years I still remembered it, I told my mom when I was about 13 or 14 but she didn't do anything it was pretty much unspoken and we still have get togethers like nothing happened but I always feel uncomfortable around him, he does talk much around me....one thing I know for sure is I'm going to be a better mother in that way! If anyone did that to my kids I'd kill them... It's up to you if you say anything she could be super supportive and angry at him or she may just act like nothing happened depends on how your moma is.

I was molested by my father for about 7 years, 8ish-15ish, time is blurry during those years for me; my mom still doesn’t know to this day. I didn’t tell at the time because he threatened my mom and my brothers lives if I told anyone. But they’ve been divorced for about 3 years now and no one knows where he is, at this point (almost 10 years later) I think it would do more harm than good for my mother to know, I’d rather her die not feeling like a failure of a mother because she’s actually an amazing mother
