Breastfed baby getting enough???

Question

For those of you that are breast feeding, how long does your baby stay on the boob for? 
My baby is 5 weeks old and her last couple feeds she only fed for 7 minutes. She seems satisfied and won’t relatch. Is this normal?

It’s very common for babies to become more efficient eaters around then. My kids have all gone from eating 30-40 minutes to more like 7-15. I have a fast letdown so it makes sense

As long as she is having plenty of dirty diapers and gaining weight it’s likely just that’s she’s getting better at nursing 🤱🏻

My baby is doing the same thing! She is also 5 weeks old and only eating for 6-7min and then she acts like she’s done. I think it’s a phase. At this age they know how to empty our breast faster and they get a couple of ounces per feeding. I’m not worry about her since she still wants to eat every 2-3 hours.

My son does between 5- 15 mins each breast. If you have concerns, I would make an appointment with a lactation consultant. My consultant does a naked baby weigh, with diaper weigh and after each breast feeding (left then right) and can estimate how much my son took from each breast and in total.
