How do you all define teething? For me, I see it as the first seeable eruption of a tooth.

The reason is because drooling is not a good indication of teething. Neither is putting things in the mouth because that’s just what babies do.

I want a little insight from everyone else’s experience so I can watch out for my son’s first tooth. My whole family keeps saying he’s teething because he drools so much and is putting things in his mouth but the objects he puts in his mouth don’t seem to satisfy any discomfort he has. He’s just playing so it’s kind of hard for me to tell.
