Baby shower ideas?

I’m so conflicted on how to our baby shower. I thought about doing the baby shower as an open house feel where people can drop in as they please, grab some food, and stay as long as they want without the pressure of staying for a couple hours. I just know people may still be hesitant to get together in a big group. Any thoughts or ideas? Trying to think of creative ways to do this!

I’m having my shower the first week of July. If people don’t feel comfortable they don’t have to come. We aren’t making any special arrangements because of covid. Most of my family never took part in quarantine from each other anyways.

Due Sept 6 I am doing a drive by shower July 12th, I’m from NJ and cases are still high here. I’ll have a few girlfriends and my mom who have been quarantining sit out with me on my lawn and we’ll decorate with balloons and a table set up with take away favors. We have 80 rsvp yes’s to driving by so far and have gotten a lot of positive responses about the idea! If we had a normal shower there was no way I could’ve invited that many and now I’m able to see all my friends and family so I’m grateful. At first I was nervous because I didn’t know how it would work but I think it will be really nice to see everyone’s faces even if it is just driving by. We’ll do a virtual gift opening a few hours after the drive by so people can see the gifts being opened.

Outside is better because the wind dilutes the virus. If you have people indoors they should wear masks.

That’s what we plan to do. We are making ours a come and go shower. Come eat and hang out for a while then leave. We are going to ask that people don’t wrap gifts if they bring them so they can be on display for everyone to see. We are also just doing one shower and making it a couples/family shower.
