Feeling like you parent alone

Why is it that women are mothers instantly but it takes men so long to be fathers? I feel like I’m always going to be alone with this baby. I love switch babies father and have for 3 years. We planned this baby. But he is always so busy sitting at a bar after getting off of work or with his friends on the weekends or my favorite having some event at work. Sometimes I wonder why not actually do this on my own then at least I know what to expect and don’t get my feelings hurt.

Is anyone else having similar experiences? I’m 34 weeks along. Is this normal? I just feel like if it hasn’t changed now it’s not going to change after baby comes.
