My boyfriend was ordering a pizza for us on the phone and when they asked for his name he said “Matt with two Ts.” It made me laugh because it seemed obvious to me that it would be two Ts. My boyfriend (who I’ve been with for almost 6 years) got angry at me for laughing. Was I wrong?

I have to say “Toni- with an i” all the time and it’s annoying enough without someone mocking me for it (despite it being the obvious spelling imo). He’s probably just annoyed- but will be fine don’t be so dramatic.

You’re not necessarily wrong, but at the same time, it’s not really all that funny and I would probably be annoyed with you for laughing, too. 
You’d be surprised how often common names like Matt and Daniel and Sarah are misspelt. My name is Kaitlyn, so I always have to actually spell it all the way out. 
Does it matter? Probably not. But if it’s something he’s sensitive about, maybe don’t laugh at him for it because just because it’s obvious to you doesn’t mean he hasn’t had to deal with it. 🤷🏻‍♀️
