Am I wrong...?

So the husband and I are going to Maryland in August we share a 6week old son. I have never met any of his family well I did meet his dad because he lives kinda locally but anyways he wants me to leave my baby who will be 3 month old baby with his mother over night so we can relax and have a date night but I'm not comfortable leaving my young child with a stranger. Not that I think she will hurt him but still I dont know her and neither does the baby. The hubby thinks I'm being stubborn. Am I wrong for not wanting to leave my son over night with her? ,

Not wrong at all! You never met the lady. 
Maybe meet in the middle with your SO. Let him know you’d be willing to have her watch baby for a bit at night so you guys can go out and enjoy yourselves on the town, but not overnight. After all baby is so little still! Heck maybe you’ll change your mind after another month (prob not ☺️ and that’s FINE) gotta feel this stuff out.

I wouldn’t do it. Babies are sooo young at that point. I actually have never left my 14 month old over night. We didn’t have a date night until after she was sleep trained around 6 months. 😬

I wouldn’t leave my daughter wait her. Tell your husband to sit down. He will never understand how you feel about it because he just doesn’t have that bond. No is a no and must be respected because your reasons are totally valid. I wouldn’t even waste my breath to explain myself on this one. Sorry husband, sorry MIL, it’s just not gonna happen. You have plenty of time to enjoy days and nights once baby is a bit older.

I didn’t leave my daughter until she was 18 months old lol and she LOVES my MIL. She still hasn’t spent a night away from home without us and I probably won’t let her for a while. You are definitely not wrong. You both must be completely comfortable with the person/situation.

I think it’s understandable to have some reservations. Why don’t you play it by ear and see how it goes? Introduce baby and yourself for that matter, spend some time all hanging out and getting to know each other. 
If it goes well, then I think you two should be able to spend time together. If you have questions or concerns, talk to your hubby about it. But I think it’ll be okay!

I wouldn’t leave baby with someone who they aren’t familiar with when they’ll probably still be needing night feeds and now sleeping in a different place than usual. But that’s just me and I don’t like leaving my babies much anyway.

I personally only feel comfortable leaving my daughter with my mother overnight. She has a lot of experience with babies and has spent a lot of time with her.
