How did you know you were having an ectopic pregnancy ?

How far along were you? What did you feel?

I had a really painful cramp it was more like a stitch that made me feel hot from head to toe followed by really heavy fresh bleeding. Rushed straight to hospital for them to tell me it was ectopic xx

I had just taken a test a few days before my expected period, about 2 weeks later, the day after I told my now husband, I started having terrible cramping, and feeling like I was about to start my period, but worse! I went to the ER, and they said it was a threatened miscarriage, and to follow up with OB. I did that following Monday, they checked my levels, saw they were rising and gave us hope everything was ok, but that it was too early to see anything on ultrasound. Went back 2 days later to recheck levels, and they hadn’t risen at all, and still nothing on ultrasound. They said it was an ectopic pregnancy, and I had to do 1 dose of methotrexate in my back. I was sick that night, and bleeding a lot, heavily bled for a week straight, heavier than my usual periods. I was about 6 weeks along.
