Smash cake prices?

How much did you pay for a smash cake? I’ve been looking asking around to get one made for my babies 1st birthday. I finally found someone I almost fainted when she told me how much it would be for a little 6in cake 😳 I’ll admit I did have like at least 10 characters I wanted on there so it wasn’t simple it had a lot of detail. & she really does amazing work but I don’t want to get ripped off either lol

I made my own for like $20. I figured he smashes it anyway🤷🏻‍♀️ 
It is cute for pictures but I could never fathom spending hundreds of dollars on a cake🤦🏻‍♀️

The bakery we love does them for free if you buy a full sized birthday cake which is usually $50-100. They did our wedding cake too and gave us a free freezer cake for our anniversary so we didn’t have to worry about saving the top layer.

I’m a cake smash photographer..simple grocery store smash cakes can be as low as $10, and custom smash cakes can be $30-$100 depending on details.

My daughters 1st bday cake I paid $360 for and it came with the smash cake. I’ve seen some range between 30+. It really depends on where you go.
