honestly, your zodiac sign isn't actually determinate of who you are as a person. they're meant to be vague so a lot of people can relate. it's a fun thing, but unreasonable to use that as a serious metric for your relationship. if you're actually not compatible, then you're not compatible. but i wouldn't rely on online zodiac posts to tell you that.

I’m super deep into astrology. The biggest point to know is that your zodiac sign based off of your birthdate isn’t the only sign you have and it’s definitely not the most important when it comes to a relationship. 
For a true compatibility comparison you’re going to need to do a full natal chart for both of you. In order to do that you have to have your birth certificate because the time of birth has to be exact. Even a few minutes off will give you the wrong sign for some placements. 
For example, I’m a Virgo and my boyfriend is a Libra which aren’t traditionally compatible. But, a lot of our full charts are very compatible.

This isn’t my favorite chart breakdown ever but it’s sufficient.

This is very much not dumb. I am virgo and I dated an Aquarius and we both were into astrology and we understood our signs did not go well. We loved eachother and a lot of pain and heartache came of our 3 year relationship but we also had a lot of fun. He cheated numerous times and lied a ton. I am now with another earth sign and I am so grateful for that. I have many friends that are Aquarius and if my baby doesn’t come on schedule it will be Aquarius which I’m not surprised. They have taught me the most lessons in life and it’s the age of Aquarius. I take astrology signs very seriously considering my past. It’s always been pretty dead on for me and I know everything happens for a reason so I have no regrets but you couldn’t pay me a billion dollars to date another Aquarius lol. Hell no.
If you guys do the work then it can happen but you are very much opposites in astrology and you will conflict on a lot at some point. It’s a personal choice and involves a lot of conscious thought when you do argue or have a disagreement. I became a person completely opposite of my true self. He brought out the worst in me and parts of me I didn’t even know existed. You partner should be your compliment and someone that lifts you up when you feel like you’ve fallen, not beat you down again and again and make you feel weak. Which was the case for me. But I loved him, hard. I still love and care for him but am so grateful I was able to break free from that mess of a relationship. Like I said though, if you’re both aware and present then it could work. Best of luck!

I'm a Sagittarius Sun/Aries Moon/Cancer Rising married to a Cancer Sun/Taurus Moon/Leo Rising. Aside from our rising signs, we are classically "incompatible".
Honestly, yeah, aside from a few fundamental things... we are different people and we do butt heads sometimes, but we use those opportunities to grow as a couple and learn to work better together.
So if you both have a growth mindset, it can work just fine. If you don't, often those incompatibilities become too much.
But I study full birth charts for compatibility rather than just sun signs. Going off of your suns alone gives very little detail and likely won't feel very accurate to most people.
