Nexplanon vs the pill postpartum?
When I go for my 6 week postpartum appointment, my doctor said she can either write me a prescription for the pill or she can insert the nexplanon implant (I’m breastfeeding so progestin only options, and I know I don’t want the depo shot). I am horrible at taking pills at the same time everyday because I don’t have a consistent schedule, but not sure about the implant either (I was on the patch before TTC). I have depression and anxiety, so I’m wondering what will be best for me mood wise with the hormones. My psychiatrist recommended the implant, something about how the hormones are processed in the body. I just wanted to hear other’s my experiences with them, because I’m scared of what the birth control hormones + postpartum hormones will do combined with the sleep deprivation and my depression/anxiety. TIA!
