What is a normal rectal temperature for a month old?

My son seems warm  so I took his temperature rectally and it was 99.0F wondering if that’s normal? He’s 6 weeks today

99 is fine. I believe with the rectal temperature you minus 0.5 to 1 degree, and with a forehead or armpit temperature you add 0.5 to 1 degree. That will give you the actual accurate oral temperature. So if his rectal temperature was 99, then his actual temperature was about 98 to 98.5 which is perfect. I do the armpit temperature on my son and it’s always about 97.6, which is a perfect 98.6 if done orally.
