I would like to add I have sent in multiple work orders and nothing! I just want to move at this point... I’ve tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but it’s not helping. I’m in Texas if that helps.

I'm no expert but I think you can terminate your lease due to how disgusting the place is and as long as you have proof of all of these problems you should not be ordered to pay... if they take you to court and you come with picture proof of everything, I can't see a judge making you pay.

Look into your rights. In my state you can withold rent for stuff like this.

Your state should have a tenant landlord agreement. I got away with not paying rent while they fixed my AC. It worked but my apartment would never cool below 85. My states agreement deems anything 85 and over as an unlivable condition and I had the right to refuse to pay. They “fixed” my AC but it was still in the 80’s in my apartment and I broke my lease and moved out. I refused to pay the fees and they threatened to take me to court. I showed them all the evidence I had about the lack of response from maintenance and botched repairs (the fixed a leaking pipe with duct tape)... they settled and let me off the hook. Definitely keep all records of maintenance requests. Take picture of damages, get names of everyone you talk to. Document, Document, Document!
