Do you still nurse your LO to sleep?

If no, how did you stop? We’ve gotten into a really bad habit of nursing to sleep

Answer

We don’t nurse to sleep for naps so I make sure he learns the skill of putting himself to sleep. I nurse to sleep for bedtime and I don’t consider it a bad habit. It is our special time together. I was putting a lot of pressure on myself for a while to stop doing it.  Finally I let it go because it is working for us so I don’t see anything wrong with it. He sleeps through the night. For naps I slowly started separating feeding from putting down to sleep. Feed on one side, sleep sack, into crib. Next, finish feeding then into sleep sack and into crib. Once he was used to that I started feeding downstairs then go up for book in the nursery then sleep sack and crib. I also put him into his sleep sack after feeding at bedtime but he doesn’t always wake up.
