Birth Control Period Question

So I have been on birth control for over two years. (The pill) and it’s made me have extremely scary periods. I get super emotional to the point where I feel crazy about the month before. I also feel super depressed. Last month, I just had enough so I decided to not take the placebo pills so I would skip my period and feel better. but now it’s 3 weeks later and I have about one regular pill left. Will my period come when I begin the placebo pills or am I now a week behind? I would call my doctor but my usual doctor retired right before covid and I haven’t met the new doctor and I am planning on switching to someone new when I can. I’m not sure what to do but I don’t want to risk getting pregnant. Any advice is appreciated!
