Car seat broken?

Anybody gotten a replacement/ refund on your infant car seat after a part on it broke? The canopy on our baby’s maxi cosi car seat has broken- not the actual canopy part but the part where the canopy hooks into the car seat. So now I have the canopy hanging off my baby’s car seat bc it won’t click in. This can’t be safe. I’ve tried to call them several times and just keep getting the run around. Ugh. Anybody ever dealt with their car seat breaking?
