Can he see this account? *Through Chase*

Question

I had a high school checking account that I opened with my dad at 16. I quickly realized he only opened it so he could steal from me so I quit because he was taking everything. I’m now 18, almost 19 and work at another place. I opened another account through the app, it’s a regular checking account and a credit card. But I’m worried he’ll still be able to mess with it. Will he have access to these accounts?

No he will not see that account because his name isn’t on it unless he has your banking long in and all that . BUTTTT if he overdrafts the account that has both your names on there, they will pull money from that second account to cover it. 
You should’ve changed banks completely and signed up with a brand new email

Ask the bank and have him removed from everything. Also if he’s causing a problem with your bank file your social as stolen.

He definitely might! It's definitely worth taking a trip to the bank and closing out your current accounts and opening new ones. My dad opened an account for me when I was a baby and we had other accounts together as I grew up... I'm 28 now and he's only on two of my accounts but he could honestly probably access any of them just bc he is my father and he's been so involved for so long. Luckily I dont have to worry about him doing anything but thats definitely something to consider. I really think it would be best for you to start fresh.

As long as only your name is on the account then no. 
Just dont use that old one and maybe try to get your name off of it

Definitely check. My ex husband and I had Chase together. I had a credit card solely under my name, as did he. We had a joint bank account also. When we split I went to the bank and took my name off his account and opened my own checking account. However when I log into the app I can still see his bank info. Not his credit card, but his checking. Its been 3 years and I don’t think he knows but I haven’t bothered to change it or look into it bc I just log in to pay my credit card bill and that’s it lol

I have several accounts with chase. My husband is a signer (joint) on 4 of the accounts, yet when he logs in, he only sees 2 accounts because you have to literally call and tell chase “add this account to my current log in”
1) chase will not automatically add accounts to your log in if you’re an additional signer on the account..... and in this situation, you opened an account just for you
 2) you opened up the new account in your name only so there is NO way he will see it or access it 
Go close the 1st account completely that he has access to or just take him off completely. 
But are you sure he still has access to your original account?? My mother opened a checking account for me at the age of 11 to teach me responsibilities. She had to be a signer (joint account) because I was not legally of age. But the account was set up/opened in a way where on my 18th birthday, my mom got automatically kicked off the bank account without either of us doing anything. 20 years later I still have that account 😂
