I only had hcg draws bc of a recent loss and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have gotten them if I hadn’t told the office people the doc told me to come in for them when I had a new pregnancy. They aren’t standard at my office — I never had them with my daughter.

I only did because I needed progesterone with my first so I called early about it for my second just in case. I only got it checked at 4 weeks and then 4+2

I had one with my son because I had 2 previous back to back losses. Since I started progesterone right at 4 weeks (when I found out I was pregnant) I decided not to this time.

You do not need a quantitative hcg test unless you are high risk or something is wrong. Otherwise it is just an excellent way for your doctor to bill your insurance company.

It’s the only way to get an accurate hCG reading!  What does your dr do then?
