I feel SO STUPID, I feel like a LOSER, & I am beyond embarrassed as I should feel. my dumb ass stole from walmart at the self check out. Due to covid I lost my job and still haven’t gotten a new one. Its my sons birthday next week and I stole a couple things that were $125. I spent $300 all together. Before anybody speaks, I know I’m wrong. I know I am.. I live in Connecticut. The cop just gave me a PTA with a 6 degree larceny. I have court the 29th. I am just so scared. I know I’m not the only one who did something similar like this before, should I get a lawyer? Or will it most likely be a fine? All my friends tell me it should be a fine. ( I have no past background )

Update: it was through self check out. I scanned one thing & put the other things In the bag without scanning. They pulled me into the secuirty office and went from there. I deserved it. Karma 🤦🏼‍♀️
