My husbands grandmother passed away. I don’t think a funeral is an appropriate place for a toddler who isn’t even 2. She won’t want to sit still and I may even have to take her outside. I’d like to be present for the funeral. But also, I think seeing several people she knows crying and grieving would be confusing and overwhelming. Obviously she’s not old enough to have death explained to her.

My husband agrees she won’t understand but still wants her to be there. I hate arguing with him over this since it’s his grandmother, but I feel strongly about it. What do all you mommas think?
