24 weeks = 5 months or 6 months pregnant?

Hey y'all probably a dumb question but I am so confused about how weeks translate to months. When someone asks how far along I am I always tell them in weeks but only cuz idk how many months that is. lol If I'm exactly 9 months pregnant on my due date, I'd be 5 months pregnant, right? Help!

I’d call 24 weeks 6 months, but technically you’re “in your sixth month” not finished it yet.

I have a similar issues with month. So many ppl ask how many months I am. From the What To Expect When You’re Expecting book, and a few baby sites, I gather the 6th month is from week 23-27.

I always go by the month date. So if I’m due oct 23.... on June 23rd I’ll be 5 months along. With 4 months left. I’ll also be about 22.5 weeks pregnant 😂 saying you’re six months just makes it seem like you’re farther along than you are and makes time go by slower IMO

If you want to answer in months you can say “I’m in my sixth month of pregnancy” or “I’m about 5 1/2 months pregnant”. Both are accurate.
