I can barely feel my IUD string?

I know the string gets softer over time.

I check it often. I went a long time without checking it and checked it last night.

At first I couldn’t feel it, it has become so thin and small that it almost feels like I have a hair sticking out of my cervix

Is it supposed to be that thin? It’s like it’s wearing down. I know this may be completely normal but it’s crazy to me how a few months ago I could feel it with no problem and it felt like stiff plastic and now it feels like nothing
