Iud expiration?

Can an iud expire before the 3 years is up? I have skyla and I haven't gotten it checked since I got it put in. (about 2 and a half years ago) I'm just curious because I don't know the exact day I got it or even the exact month. I just know I got it within the first couple months of being with my partner and our 3 year anniversary is in 4 months. So I just want to be extra safe especially because I don't have medicaid right now and am currently unemployed due to the virus and can't afford a obgyn right now

I know this question is probably stupid and not getting it checked is dumb on my part but I'm a broke b**ch 😂
