Are your 3.5 year olds sleeping without a pull-up?

Question

Will has tried a couple times to sleep without his pull-up, but it does not last long before he wets himself. At some point we will make a big effort to make the transition, but I don't feel like he's quite ready yet. Do your kiddos still wear a diaper at night, and if not any tips or tricks when we start?

Staying dry overnight is developmental.  Your body has to release a hormone for that and our pediatrician said it's very normal for kids up to age 10 or so to still have nighttime accidents, especially if they are deep sleepers. Just let him wear the pull up and wait until he wakes up dry several days in a row, then try without it. My daughter still wears a pull up to bed and is not dry in the morning.

Urologists understand the phenomenon she saw working with really persistent bed wetters and states that if you don’t get them night trained by 4, the potential for on going bedwetting increases a LOT, the bladder needs time to practice. And if the neural connections aren’t established by a certain age it becomes MUCH more difficult. Which makes so much sense considering all the areas where neuroplastisity is essential for children’s development (vision, speech) that needs to be addressed before a certain age where it becomes much more difficult to correct. Personally I’d feel this was an urgent scenario if it was my child . Look into this 💗
