When to introduce a bottle and how?

My babe is 2 weeks old and EBF but eventually I will be going back to work and she will need to take a bottle. When should I try introducing a bottle and does anyone have any helpful tips or bottle recommendations?

Tomme Tippe Closer to Nature bottles. Introduce around 4 weeks and have someone other than yourself give the bottle. Start with the slowest flow nipple, I think it's 0 and increase to a 1 if the 0 frustrates your LO or it takes too long to finish the bottle.

i’ve heard wait a month because that’s when breastfeeding is well established, but i found that by 1.5 weeks breastfeeding was well established so that’s when we did it! she prefers nursing for sure but she’ll usually take a bottle

Once breastfeeding is established and keep giving regular bottles a couple of times a week. I didn’t do this with my son (keep giving him a few times a week) and I regret it as he ended up rejecting the bottle.

My lactation consultant said around 2 weeks if breastfeeding is well established. They said to give the bottle during the times the baby will be having the bottle and breastfeed when you’d be breastfeeding. She said there would be no issue going back and forth. They also said to keep the bottle parallel to the ground so the baby has to work for the milk like they do on the breast. Obviously they aren’t sitting up on their own but we just used pillows to prop our arms/baby up. Our daughter had no problems going back and forth once she got used to the whole thing!
