Is my theory true? The more you post on social media, the less likes you get?

I notice the people who barely post get a ton of likes. If you share something everyday, you don't get as many likes.

I can’t stand people who post or share posts constantly. I post maybe once or twice a week. But some of my friends post like 5-10 times a day or more. Just sharing memes and posts from other people. It’s nearly impossible to keep up with their life when all they post is memes. 
I generally unfollow those people so my feed isn’t filled with a TON of random memes and shared worn porn posts. 
One of my friends had a baby a month ago but I’m not going to scroll through a thousand memes just to see how the baby is doing or see pictures of him. 🙄 I hate that this is what al social media has turned into. It used to just be a great way to stay in touch with everyone.

I’ve noticed the opposite.. My friend who posts a few times a week, or once a day even- gets 50, 100 likes. I’ll post once a month TOPS and get 5 likes, maybe. I’d even argue that the content is comparable, and we have hundreds of mutual friends/ similar friend list amounts. It also matters what time of day, and what day of the week.. There are so many factors! I typically get along with just about everybody, so I’m not taking it personally 🙃

For me, there’s a lot of Variables and doesn’t really matter if it’s 1 post a week or 10 in one day.    I comment or like depending on the actual content ,over, quantity of posts
