Day 6 embryo update... happy-ish?

Question

So, out of 13 fertilized only 3 made to blast. 1 arrested on day 3 and the rest on day 5. It’s bitter-sweet. I’m happy that we have 3 embabies biopsed and on ice but I’m sad that 9 stopped at day 5...
Now waiting for the biopsy. I hate waiting!

Definitely something to be happy about. Some women get nothing & that must be absolutely heartbreaking. Prayers all three of your embabies are normal 🥰

It is very hard to see them die . . Same thing happened to me last IVF day3 seemed like they were doing great and wonderful and then day5 were not sk healthy didnot form blast yet. And day6 almost all were gone. 
But praying that those 3 are great quality very healthy and genetically normal embryos 🤞🙏🤞

Congrats! My RE told me that someone of average age and without any fertility issues (ie myself) should expect no more than 3 blasts at the end of one retrieval cycle. So this is pretty much on par with her expectations. Praying that they are all euploid! 🙏🏼

Tom Petty was so right: the waiting is the hardest part! 
I know what you mean. We only retrieved three, but miraculously they were all mature and fertilized... but only one made it to blastocyst. It’s amazing how quickly we love our embabies, and sad to lose any.

3 embabies is wonderful! I’m currently waiting to hear back to see if we’ll have any to freeze. I had my retrieval Wednesday and we’ve only got 4 matured and fertilized out of 15. Good luck to you! I hope you have your baby out of the first transfer. 🙏🏼

I felt the exact same way after my retrieval in early April. They got 13 eggs 12 were mature and all 12 fertilized and they said they looked good. I didn’t get an update until Day 5 and only 4 had made it. I was heartbroken that we had lost 8 embryos so quickly. Then I felt guilty for not being happy I had gotten 4. This is such a tough process with so many emotions. 
Fingers crossed for great biopsy results! 🤞🏻
