Are you deciding gender?
I guess I forgot to have the conversation with my husband. I assumed we’d discuss before transfer (if there were multiple), which one to implant first. We had always talked about one of each, and pre-IVF had planned on learning at the first ultrasound that saw it (though at the same time I don’t want a gender-reveal and I try to be conscious of problematic gender roles).
Anyway, when my doctor called with my pgs results (I put her on speaker) and asked if I wanted to know gender, I said of course! They were all girls! I’m happy either way, but as soon as I got off the phone, my husband looked sad and said he didn’t want to know in advance. Oops. I think part of it might have been being sad that there probably won’t be a boy (hoping I can get two pregnancies from this round).
How are all of you PGS IVF folks handling gender? Finding out the embryo genders? Implanting intentionally or blindly (when more than one)? Any discrepancies between what you and your partner want? Other thoughts?
