Can someone explain something about masks please?

So I understand masks are so that you don’t spread germs to others. I understand germs in the form of spit droplets can come out of your mouth when talking or coughing, etc.

But do spit droplets actually come out of your nose??

I guess I’m asking why the nose needs to be covered to. Like the science behind it.

** okay, I just googled it (should’ve done beforehand, but still have questions).

I found an article published a couple days ago that addresses this. It says that coronavirus can hide out in the nose and then attack the rest of your body. That the cells in the nose are easiest to infect. Infecting we want to protect our noses from potential illness.

But... if masks don’t prevent you from getting sick, and only prevent you from spreading it - then my question still stands. So wearing a mask won’t prevent the virus from getting in our nose. Why do we need to cover our noses with masks?
