What should be my babies first pureed food?

Mine started with sweet potatoes, carrots, avacado, banana, turnips, peas then we moved onto other fruit and peanut butter crackers

That's not true about not using a fruit first; it doesn't matter.   
For the first year, your baby's nutrients should come from breast milk or formula.   Food before one is just for fun.  
All that being said, I started purees with our daughter at four months.   After rice and oatmeal cereal, we went to green beans.   If I could do it over again, though, I'd do baby led weaning.  👌

We did sweet potatoes, prunes, apples, green beans, bananas, carrots, pears, peaches, then pumpkin. She has had no problem going back and forth between fruits and veggies, she loves them all!

It needs to be a vegtable first, doesnt matter which one of the vegtables, be warned avacado makes a lot of babies poop so be warned about that incase he poops a lot or has looser poops avacado does that.

I just gave him a smear of perfectly ripe avocado as his first. I didn’t bother to purée it.
