How do i breast feed and pump?

FTM here so I am completely clueless but I need to start pumping to build a supply for daycare however I have no idea where to start or how to start.
I want to keep breast feeding throughout the day so when would be the best time to pump?
Any advice would be helpful! I have a spectra S2 as well and I’m not quite sure how to use it!

Pump after nursing baby. Also pump at night when baby is sleeping. The more stimulation the more milk produced. But if you’re nursing you want the baby to eat first then pump after so you get the hind milk. Drink lots of water, eat nutritious food and oatmeal

My lactation consultant said not to pump too much or your body will increase the supply too much and you'll have an oversupply and risk engorgement and always have to pump in addition to nursing. You'll have to pump at work so you'll have that milk to send to daycare the next day so you really only need enough for the first day of daycare since you won't be pumping at work the day before. I just use the Haakaa silicone pump and only take off an ounce while baby is nursing on the other side. I keep that in the fridge until there are 3-4 oz then freeze it to get that first day of daycare covered and a small stash since I don't really need a big stash for anything. I'll usually do it in the morning and sometimes again in the late afternoon. I also pump once every 3-4 days to have one bottle for my husband to give my baby so he stays used to getting a bottle for when he starts daycare and I'll do an extra ounce in the fridge from that. Definitely reach out to a lactation consultant though, they are so helpful.

So I had enough pumped to get my son started and a little extra but I always pumped at work enough to send the next day so I always sent fresh never frozen and just brought more every day

You’ll learn to play with the settings. I push the start button then jump it to 70/5. I only pump for five min each side. I started pumping half hour after feeding times and would pump 4-5x a day till I went back to work. Then cut it to 2x a day at work. Love my spectra. My lo is 14m and still breastfeeds few times a day. Good luck
